Felicitation programme of Ms. Neelam Pawar & Mst. Rohan Pawar
Ms. Neelam Pawar & Mst. Rohan Pawar of Patansai Wadi (belonging to Scheduled Tribe) passed SSC Board examination despite all odds. Both of them had become school drop-outs during Covid pandemic.
On Sunday evening 6.30 (23rd June, 2024), their felicitation programme had been organized at Patansai Wadi. Students, parents, senior citizens of Patansai Wadi and VBSK karyakartas were present in large numbers. Shri. Mandar Paranjape, in the beginning, addressed the audience. He appreciated the hard work and perseverance displayed by Neelam and Rohan
Mr. Suresh Gokhale( Secretary, VBSK) addressed the gathering on this occasion. He said, “Neelam and Rohan have set an exemplary path for all the students of Patansai Wadi. Although they had to shoulder financial responsibilities, earn for the family by doing laborious work, they continued to attend the classes and prepare for the board examination. Both of them have taken admission for higher education. For building a strong society, social and educational inclusiveness is necessary. Education and health can bring about the expected transformation of society. The days are not far when the young boys and girls of the Katkari tribe will hold the highest positions in society.” He assured that all kinds of support will be extended by VBSK. He appealed to fight unitedly against the attacks on our ‘Dev, Desh & Dharma’.
The community hall at Patansai Wadi and electricity were made available for the coaching class. All the expenditure of the coaching class such as text books, note books, stationery, writing desks, electricity bill, remuneration paid to a young amateur teacher etc could be borne with the financial support extended by well wishers. Some well wishers supported the students by preparing and sharing audio clips of the lessons in the text books. The gratitude towards all the well wishers was expressed in the programme.
Rohan and Neelam’s grandfather, Rohan’s mother, other relatives and people present in the program were deeply moved. They said that they would wholeheartedly support their children to pursue higher education. The programme concluded after performing Arati and distribution of Prasad.
In the current academic year 3 dropped-out students have joined the class. The number is expected to increase soon. After the success of coaching classes at Patansai (Taluka Roha), VBSK karyakartas are planning to begin coaching classes at more places such as Pen, Mangaon and Mahad.
