Many known and unknown great men are involved in the building of modern India. One of them is Vishnubuva Brahmachari. He was born in the first half of the 19th century. The life and work of the fearless, ascetic Vishnubuva guide all like an unwavering pole star.
He strongly and passionately enlightened the Hindu society on various issues like the abolition of caste discrimination, child marriage, widow marriage, education, and labor - peasant problems, despite the slander and neglect that he had to endure. He believed that our society had been disrupted due to caste differences which resulted in the loss of our freedom. He strongly resisted the conversion of Hindus by Christian missionaries with his pen and voice.
He believed that India's upliftment would come through the practice of ‘Vedokta Dharma’ - the eternal values of life enunciated in the Vedas and Upanishads.
Vishnubuva had established the ‘Padukas of Shri Dattaguru’ at his birthplace Shirvali.
