Palasgaon Khurd is a village situated at the base of Sahyadri on Nizampur - Raigad road in Mangaon taluka. Four years ago, the President of Bharat visited Raigad fort and had taken this route. Hence a good quality road was constructed before the President's visit.The villages situated on this road are really fortunate.

 

Palasgaon has a primary school of Raigad Zilla Parishad. The school building is well maintained. Until last year, the school strength was good, but this year the number of students has come down to 13.

 

Shri. Shivaji Mhatre Sir (Retired Principal, New English School, Shirwali) and I visited this school on Friday, 12 July. Shri. Khamkar Sir and Mrs. Mhatre Madam are the teachers in this school. Children of Bahujan Samaj and Katakari - a scheduled tribe come to the school. The financial condition of all the parents is very poor. Due to heavy rain, 9 children were present in the school. We gave notebooks and other educational material to the children. Shri. Shivaji Mhatre Sir interacted with children. Among these children, 2 boys - both named Rahul, mimicked perfectly the voices of different birds. Janhvi, a girl in the 4th standard, is good at studying and is very intelligent. We should stand behind such children.

 

So far, we have distributed educational material to 881 students from 3 talukas, of 13 villages, of 15 schools and 1 study center at Patansai Wadi.
